Let’s take a look at some other extraordinary frescoes, which were probably painted in the second half of the thirteenth century and were therefore commissioned by the Franciscans: on one pillar, we see the scene of St. Peter freed by the angel, on another Saint Benedict praying on the rock of Cassino, a Deposition and other images of saints. Walking along the nave towards the exit, we can see fragments  in the floor from the excavation of the early Christian structure.
